Originally from Hendersonville, North Carolina, Heather now lives in Raleigh with her husband and son. She has published short fiction in The Thomas Wolfe Review, Clapboard House, Pembroke Magazine, Broad River Review, First Stop Fiction, Deep South Magazine, Appalachian Story, Gravel, and elsewhere. In 2016, she won the James Still Fiction Prize. Her first novel, MARANATHA ROAD, releases September 1, 2017 from Vandalia Press, the creative imprint of West Virginia University Press. A graduate of Duke University and Duke University School of Law, her legal practice focuses on financial services litigation.
